What Health Conditions Cause Low HCG Hormone?
I was wondering if certain health conditions could cause a females HCG to be, therefore giving off a false negative pregnancy test. for example my girlfriend is showing plenty signs of pregnancy, but she taken a home test and it came up negative, i know shes Anemic and usually has problems with it, and i was wondering if there were any health conditions that cause the HCG hormone to not be as strong.
If she’s testing too early that can make the test be a "false negative"…but pregnancy symptoms are also very similar to period symptoms (especially if she’s *thinking* that she might be pregnant)…
Depending on how late she is will determine if she’s testing too early. Some women need to be closer to 2 weeks late before they will get an accurate urine test. Also if she’s not using first morning urine that can effect the accuracy of the test.
She can go to the Dr for a blood test. That will be a ton more accurate than a urine test. As for being anemic…that’s a low iron count…and while it’s a concern during pregnancy, it won’t keep a woman from getting a postive test.
The only health condition that I can think of that might cause low hCg levels is an ectopic pregnancy (where the egg attaches to the fallopian tube instead of inside the uterus). Tell your girlfriend to either take another urine test OR go see a Dr.
